python-guiqwt software package provides efficient 2D data-plotting library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-guiqwt
python-guiqwt is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-guiqwt package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-guiqwt *
You will get with python-guiqwt package name, version, architecture and description in a table
